  • Jávri is an unforgettable adult only, local family-run hotel in the small village of Saariselkä, which lies in the far north of Finland, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. With 13 stylish rooms, this charming Lappish-style hotel is a ideal place to relax. Jávri is a tranquil, aesthetically pleasing home away from home.  Jávri works in a responsible and sustainable way.

    There’s a lot included in your stay, like full board, winter outfit and beyond, from guided daily activities to the free use of the fitness studio, saunas and indoor swimming pool. All meals are served in the private restaurant – so you won’t need to go far to find authentic local food. Jávri is located right next to the trails and adventures of the National Park – the location is ideal for those seeking to experience untouched nature.

  • Jávri welcomes adults to sleep peacefully and experince the silence and serenity of Lapland. There are thirteen stylish rooms – six Cosy Doubles, three spacious Spacy Doubles and four Skyview Doubles. All rooms accommodate two persons. 

    The rooms have been meticulously designed using a blend of natural, locally sourced, and recycled materials, and complimented with minimalist furnishing in neutral tones. Whilst the rooms and suites vary in size, style and position, all provide the most restful place to lay your head at the end of the day. It’s also a chance to experience the silence of the Finnish wilderness: there are no TVs or phones in the rooms, but free WiFi is included so that you can connect with the world.

    • COSY DOUBLES

      The stylishly charming Cosy Doubles are on the ground floor of the lodge. The rooms feature original log walls, neutral colours and chic Scandi furnishings. There’s a fantastically comfortable king-size bed, an eye-catching armchair with sheepskin and sophisticated side tables, and a private bathroom.

    • SPACY DOUBLES

      36-53 m² │ max. 2 persons

      With a nod to the lodge’s history, the Spacy Doubles on the ground floor feature original log walls, king-size beds, and sophisticated Scandi furniture. The Spacy Doubles are larger than other double rooms at Jávri Lodge. There’s a seating area with a comfy sofa and an eye-catching armchair with sheepskin, and a private bathroom. Natural materials such as oak, wool and reindeer hides adorn the rooms and represent Scandinavian design aesthetics. The Spacy Doubles have a king-size bed.

    • SKYVIEW DOUBLES

      28-32 m² │ max. 2 persons

      Situated on the upper floor with 3.2 metres high floor-to-ceiling windows, the Skyview Doubles offer magnificent views out onto the never-ending wilderness. There’s an inviting seating area next to the window, a perfect place for a leisurely morning coffee. The leather and blackened wood of the interior, combined with neutral and grey tones, create a modern, almost minimalistic style. The Skyview Doubles have a king-size bed.

  • When your days are spent exploring Mother Nature’s bounty some 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, it’s only fitting that meals be as healthy and sustaining as possible. And while Jávri Lodge’s culinary team will ensure that you’re satiated, it also promises an exceptional and creative menu. Changing daily, it reflects both seasonality and availability, and is determined by the organic ingredients delivered by local trusted and reliable gatherers, fishermen, reindeer herders and hunters.

    Indeed, the provenance of the produce is key: a local fisherman delivers king crab from Northern Norway, wild fresh fish is sourced from nearby lakes, and reindeer and game products are from a small neighbourhood family business.

    Jávri restaurant fuses casual elegance with upscale sophistication for a refined dining experience.

    Dinner is a five- to seven-course extravaganza, showcasing wild fish, matsutake and other local mushrooms, berries and other local organic delicacies, paired with exquisite wines from small European vineyards. Maybe a matsutake gnocchi and king crab tortellini one night; reindeer tartar, lamb filet and cloudberry sorbet on another. Dining is always a creative and tasty surprise, depending on the season and availability, and otherwise only limited by the chef’s imagination.

      As the temperature plummets, there’s nothing better at the end of an Arctic adventure than coming back to the warmth of the lodge, and immerse yourself in a wellness experience – a gentle float or a few lengths in the pool, and let the heat of the sauna caress your body and soul.

      In need of restoration? Jávri invites guests to feel the energy from classical retreat. A major benefit of getting a massage after a workout is an increase in blood circulation to the muscles which assists repair any injured tissue.

    • FITNESS STUDIO

      There is no need to worry about workout either as the lodge has the most fantastically formed fitness studio with floor to ceiling windows – a harmonious blend of functionality, aesthetics and nature.

    • LIVING ROOM

      The lodge itself is intended to be a dream-home away from home with its living room, inviting fireplace, well-stocked wine cellar, and more. Every night a fire is lit so guests can curl up with a book or simply gaze out at a never-ending natural paradise that’s unfolding outside the window. There is tea and coffee on tap, and an honesty bar that never closes. Like the world leaders who have stayed here before, guests find themselves truly relaxed and re-energised.

    Many of great activities are included in the room rate.  With Finland’s second-largest national park on the doorstep, it’s the perfect winter playground for those looking to explore this picturesque region. 

    Your holiday will be filled with exciting Arctic activities like a snowmobile tour, ice-fishing, snowshoe walking tour or a cross-country skiing tour in the silent snowy forest. You can also visit the private Jávri wilderness cabin – a perfect place for a snowshoeing or cross-country tour. 

    Guests venture out from the lodge in small groups  – ensuring a convivial and intimate ambiance. If you prefer more demanding activities hotel staff are ready to fulfill your dreams whether it’s a 4-hour dog-sledding experience, exploring the white landscapes on a 4 -hour snowmobile safari, or searching for the Northern Lights.

    2 h activities: Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice-fishing are included in the room rate.

    INCLUDED ACTIVITIES IN THE SUMMER AND AUTUMN SEASON

     Hiking and walking tours, 2 h e-bike tours. In the autumn months Northern Light tours are also included in the room rate.
